Getting to Dublin Zoo
The zoo is situated in the heart of Dublin’s Phoenix Park, which is located near Dublin city center. Phoenix Park is incredibly easy to reach because of its proximity to Heuston Station, which provides both long-distance and local connections to trains, trams, and buses. It's also within a 30-minute walk of the majority of the city center, but you may want to save your steps for exploring the zoo.
If you rented a car…
If you're renting a car to explore the Irish countryside and reach other cities, the Dublin Zoo is not a bad stop on your way in or out of town. There's no parking directly at the zoo but the nearby Cricket Grounds car park (parking lot) is situated within a short walk of the entrance along with street parking on North Road. Parking is limited so you may want to plan ahead or get an early start.
Getting to Dublin Zoo from the train station
From Connolly Train Station, you can take the Red Line tram to the Phoenix Park stop and walk or hop on the #99 bus to reach the zoo’s entrance. The other primary train station in the city is Heuston Station, which is right across the street from Phoenix Park. It’s a 20-minute walk to the entrance of the park from there.
Taking the tram to Dublin Zoo
The Luas are Dublin’s tram network consisting of two lines intersecting at Heuston Station just outside of Phoenix Park. It's about a 20-minute walk to the zoo.
