Where can I store my luggage in Louisville?
Home of the Kentucky Derby, bluegrass music and Kentucky Fried Chicken, Louisville, Kentucky counts as one the oldest cities west of the Appalachian Mountains. Its history begins with none other than George Rogers Clark, brother of the leader of the Lewis and Clark expedition, William Clark. George Rogers Clark was Louisville’s founder, and many monuments in the city are named after him. As for Louisville itself, it gets its name from France’s King Louis the XVI, who sent soldiers to help the early Americans fight the Revolutionary War.
Today, the city is home to numerous festivals, including the Kentucky Derby Festival. Also in Louisville is the Humana Festival of New American Plays, the annual Beatles Festival and the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival. Visitors to Louisville love all of these live entertainment offerings, as well as Louisville’s excellent food and drink, which is served with a big dose of Southern hospitality.
