Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Playa del Carmen?

We charge from MX$56.00 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Playa del Carmen.

  • Does Playa del Carmen have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Playa del Carmen.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Playa del Carmen?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Playa del Carmen.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

Store Your Luggage Around Playa del Carmen With Bounce

Officially, records show that Playa del Carmen, Mexico was established in 1937. However, people have lived in the area long before the 20th century rolled in. One of the first groups of people to inhabit the area was the Mayans; many years ago, the Mayans lived in a city called Xaman-Ha, the “Waters of the North.” Xaman-Ha remained a key Mayan religious center and trading post until the 1500s, when Spanish Colonists first set foot in the area. The Spaniards brought disease, death, and Catholicism with them. Before long, Xaman-Ha was no more. In its place stood Playa del Carmen, a city that became a Mexican territory in the early 1900s.

These days, the city embraces its Mexican, Mayan, and Spanish ancestry. People are encouraged to visit Mayan Ruins, eat authentic Mexican cuisine, and learn the various languages and dialects spoken in the area. Visitors are also encouraged to enjoy Playa del Carmen’s beautiful beaches and breezy weather.

Luggage Storage in Playa del Carmen

However, about 1.1 million tourists visit Playa del Carmen, Mexico each year. 98 percent (or 1.08 million) of Playa del Carmen’s tourists come from other countries. Top Things to Do

1.1 million tourists certainly make for a big crowd. However, it’s easy to see why so many guests visit the city each year. From visiting Mayan ruins to sunbathing at beaches, there are plenty of things to do here. First-time visitors are encouraged to find a tour guide; it’ll be much easier to navigate Playa del Carmen and see all that there is to see with someone who knows the city well. Guests are also encouraged to attend the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival if they’re visiting during November, but there are plenty of festivals take place in the city all throughout the year.

Museums

Sandy beaches and tropical weather are some of the first things that stand out about Playa del Carmen. But there's much more to explore in the city. Guests can sign up for tours of Mayan ruins and visit Playa del Carmen’s museums to learn about the city’s fascinating history.

  • 3D Museum of Wonders: See optical illusions galore at the 3D Museum of Wonders. Local residents and tourists all love posing for pictures at one of the museum’s many exhibits. Kurt Wenner is the artist who created most of the pieces on display.
  • Museo Frida Kahlo: The famous artist Frida Kahlo was born in the village of Coyoacán on July 6, 1907, and many of her works are carefully displayed at the Museo Frida Kahlo. Guests should use Bounce before visiting this tribute to Ms. Kahlo.
  • Playacar Mayan Ruinas: Visiting the Playacar Ruins (“Ruinas” in Spanish) is like traveling back in time; guests will come face to face with ancient structures that are centuries old. Anyone who visits will effectively get a glimpse of how the Mayans lived so long ago.
