About Changi Airport

Singapore is a small island country located in Southeast Asia. It is the most developed nation in the entire Asian continent. The country is a global shipping and financial hub and has also become a popular tourist destination over the years. The main entry point into Singapore is Changi Airport, which is one of the biggest transportation hubs in the region. It is the home base for numerous airline carriers such as Singapore Airlines, Scoot, SilkAir, and Jetstar Asia Airways. The airport welcomes nearly 70 million passengers yearly and is currently ranked the 16th busiest airport in the world.

Found at the eastern end of the country, the airport has earned the distinction of “World’s Best Airport” for seven years straight (since 2013), according to Skytrax. Apart from the excellent service, this award can be attributed to the airport’s unique features. Passengers stay busy for hours on end in indoor gardens, a swimming pool, and even an indoor slide!

Fun fact: The airport features a moving sculpture called “Kinetic Rain,” found in Terminal 1. In 2013, Singaporean news went wild as a video of a woman climbing over the railings, and trying to steal parts of the sculpture was released. She was eventually captured and arrested by the authorities.
