About Bay Street

If the name Bay Street makes you think about New York’s famous Financial District, that’s for good reason. Often touted as the “Wall Street of Canada,” the name Bay Street actually refers to many things; at once, it refers to the actual street that runs through most of Downtown Toronto, as well as Canada’s financial services industry. As you might’ve expected, individuals who are looking to buy stocks, invest in businesses, or simply gained a better understanding of Canada’s Financial Sector often travel here in person.

However, Bay Street doesn’t operate on an “all work, but no play” philosophy. On the contrary, Bay Street has plenty of tourist attractions and landmarks to keep visitors occupied. Take venues like the Sutton Place Hotel or the College Park shopping mall, for example – you’re sure to have a great time at either venue, even if you have come to Bay Street to do business. Overall, Bay Street is a great place to visit, especially if you have a keen interest in finance. If you’ve been to Wall Street, we believe that you’ll enjoy your trip to Bay Street even more.

Things to Do Near Bay Street

Bay Street, just like Wall Street, is located next to a bevy of famous landmarks. Aside from the Sutton Place Hotel and the College Park shopping mall (also known as “777 Bay”), Bay Street is very close to several popular Candian restaurants and museums. When you do visit Bay Street, Bounce recommends visiting the following 10.

  • Take a tour of the Toronto Coach Terminal, a massive bus station with awe-inspiring architecture
  • Make a splash at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
  • Relax your body and your mind at the Novo Spa
  • Shop ‘til you drop, eat ‘til you're beat, and enjoy a concert or two at Wychwood Barns Park
  • Travel to the University of Toronto, one of the city’s oldest and most beloved educational institutions
  • Learn to cook with the best of them at one of Le Dolci’s cooking classes
  • Attend an unforgettable performance at the Royal Conservatory of Music
  • Make your way to St. Lawrence Market, a sprawling indoor flea market of epic proportions
  • Check out Casa Loma, an Edwardian castle designed by Architect E.J. Lennox

Luggage Storage Near Bay Street

Bay Street is a very large and busy place. You really won’t be able to appreciate its size and scale until you’re there, in the flesh. On any given day, hundreds of thousands of people crowd the city’s streets. Most are simply folks trying to get to or from work. However, some will be tourists who are exploring the city for the first time. It can be hard to keep your bearings straight when you’re dealing with that much commotion – doubly so, if you’re overburdened with luggage. That’s where Bounce can help you out. We're a secure luggage storage service that’s available all day and all night, each day of the week. To learn more about our services, download the easy-to-use app.

Luggage Storage Options Near Bay Street

Many of Bounce’s luggage storage stations are located near popular landmarks and important hub areas. The same goes for Bay Street – in fact, many of the landmarks we’ve already mentioned are within walking distance of our storage locations. Leave your gear with us and visit your favorite venue.

Luggage Storage Near the Royal Ontario Museum

The Royal Ontario Museum is one of the most popular educational centers in all of Canada, let alone Toronto. Located near Bay Street on 100 Queens Park, this enormous museum has it all – art exhibits, historical artifacts, scientific discoveries, religious paraphernalia, the works! As of 2020, the museum is looking to host a special Winnie the Pooh exhibit.

If you’d like to learn more about the history of Canada and Toronto, you have to visit the Royal Ontario Museum. Tickets prices vary, depending on a visitor’s age and military status. The museum is also located near one of our Bounce partners. A major plus, as the museum has very strict luggage policies.

Luggage Storage Near the Toronto Police Museum and Discovery Centre

As you might expect, the Toronto Police Museum and Discovery Centre is a tribute to the women and men who’ve served in law enforcement. Police cars and pieces of equipment from multiple periods can all be found here. Tours are also held on certain days, especially around national holidays.

Unlike many other museums, the Toronto Police Museum is funded by donations and the Toronto Police Service. This means that you won’t have to pay for a ticket to visit. However, if you're able to, consider donating to support the museum and the TPS. The Toronto Police Museum and Discovery Centre is located on 40 College Street. Use Bounce to store your things before you visit.

Luggage Storage Near the Hockey Hall of Fame

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the Hockey Hall of Fame. This iconic Canadian landmark is one of Toronto’s most popular attractions. Hockey fans from all around the globe visit the Hockey Hall of Fame all through the year, and have done so since the Hall was first built in 1943.

If you’re a die-hard hockey fan, then the Hall is likely already on your list of places to visit. However, even if you don’t know the first things about Hockey, we encourage you to stop by. In many ways, the Hall is as much a piece of Canadian culture as Hockey, poutine, and beavers. When you visit Bay Street, please do yourself a favor and visit the Hall. It’s located on 30 Yonge St.
