Tulip Time 2025
The Tulip Time Festival is a bloom-filled dream come true, where Dutch heritage and spring's beauty meet in the perfect festival!
The Tulip Time Festival is Michigan's most colorful celebration. Held every spring in Holland, it's a weeklong festival with millions of blooming tulips, Dutch dancers, parades, live music, and small-town charm. Think wooden shoes, windmills, and gorgeous flower fields, plus funnel cakes and fireworks!
The festival began in the 1920s as a city beautification project. Local biology teacher Lida Rogers proposed planting 100,000 tulip bulbs to honor the city's Dutch heritage. The charming blooms attracted thousands of visitors, which led to the establishment of an annual celebration. Today, this event is a cherished tradition that celebrates the community's history and the beauty of spring with over 5 million tulips.
Want to know a fun fact? The city of Holland imports its tulip bulbs straight from the Netherlands every year. Also, Holland's Windmill Island Gardens features an authentic 250-year-old windmill called De Zwaan, the only working Dutch windmill in the US!
Visit Holland from Friday, May 2, to Sunday, May 11, for an enchanting experience as tulips bloom in many different locations throughout the city!
