French Quarter Fest 2025

A treasure trove of sounds will be opened this April!

The French Quarter Festival is a stellar music festival that takes place annually in New Orleans. It's organized by the French Quarter Festivals, Inc. (FQFI), a non-profit group dedicated to enhancing and supporting New Orleans's cultural economy and its creators.

FQFI was created in 1983 to bring residents back to the French Quarter and support its local businesses. One year later, in April 1984, Mayor Ernest "Dutch" Morial created the French Quarter Festival. It was a huge success, so two other high-quality special events were added also to promote the Vieux Carré (French Quarter) and the City of New Orleans. One is A Creole Christmas (now Holidays New Orleans Style), and the other is Satchmo SummerFest.

These events present the culture and heritage of this unique city where the rhythm of jazz fills the air, Creole and Cajun flavors tantalize the palate, and traditions weave an unforgettable experience.

You're invited to see how the French Quarter Fest's events and activities instill increased pride in the citizens of New Orleans from April 10 - 13, 2025!

What To Expect When Attending French Quarter Fest 2025

More than 20 stages will be set up throughout the French Quarter, where you can sing and hit the dance floor.

Swing to the sounds of jazz or waltz with your loved one as a classic tune fills the air. Blues, funk, brass bands, gospel, R&B, Cajun, Zydeco, and much more will allow you to enjoy your favorite music and discover something new.

After your legs get tired or you simply want a break, look around you and catch sight of a food vendor. Over 60 vendors will serve many delicious options, from gumbo and jambalaya to po'boys, beignets, and crawfish étouffée. New Orleans' finest restaurants also serve food and beverages at locations like Jackson Square, the Jazz Museum at the Mint, and Woldenberg Riverfront Park.

This family-friendly event has a dedicated Family Fun Zone with activities, crafts, and performances to entertain little ones. Be sure to enjoy parades, captivating art exhibits, and performances that beautifully reflect New Orleans' rich French, Creole, and Spanish heritage.

The event is free to attend, but if you want to support FQFI's nonprofit mission, you can join the Fest Family VIP experience. Fest Family members can access hospitality lounges, an elevated viewing stand, private bars, exclusive programming, private restrooms, and much more. A single-day pass costs $149, a four-day weekend pass costs $449, and a four-day pass with front-stage access costs $1,200. Kids 12 and under are free with a paid adult. You can purchase your ticket here.

The great news is that the weather will be perfect for enjoying this outdoor event. Daytime temperatures will be around 26 C (79 F), and cooler evenings will drop to about 16 C (61 F). Dress comfortably and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Security Protocols

Your bags will be checked at entrances, and attendees are encouraged to bring only essential items to expedite this process. To ensure everyone feels safe, the event maintains a visible security presence throughout the area, including local law enforcement and private security teams.

Large bags and backpacks, drones, fireworks, and dangerous objects are prohibited. If you have a four-legged friend, leave it at home!

How to Get To or From the Event

Here's how to reach the French Quarter:

  • Car: Parking in the French Quarter is limited and can fill up quickly during the festival. Use parking lots near the festival, such as French Market, 300 North Peters Street, 211 Conti Street, or the Garage at Canal Place.
  • Public transportation: You can take New Orleans' RTA buses or streetcars. The Riverfront and Canal Street streetcar lines stop near the French Quarter. If you're taking the bus, check the RTA website to find the best route for you.
