About the station
The Bilbao train station is known simply as Bilbao-Abando by locals. This train station has been in existence since 1863 and continues to service traffic between Bilbao and Castille. The Cercanías Bilbao commuter rail services pass through this station and the station is also a connection point for the high-speed Basque-Y line. The station has been expanded numerous times, but the beautiful stained glass wall inside the older segment of the terminal has been preserved. There is currently an urban expansion project that is being completed to improve many areas of Bilbao around the station, which will allow the Bilbao station to be connected to increased bus transit options in the future.

Casco Viejo
