Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Exeter?

We charge from £3.60 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Exeter.

  • Does Exeter have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Exeter.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Exeter?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Exeter.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

About Exeter

With a population of around 130,000 people, Exeter is a long way from being one of the UK’s biggest cities. However, it can fairly claim to be one of the oldest. And as the capital of its county of Devon and the home of the University of Exeter, it’s a city that has a lot to offer.

Exeter's origins lie in prehistory. There were settlements in the area thousands of years ago, and finds of Greek and Roman coins suggest that these settlements were trading with the classical world as early as 250 BC. When the Romans invaded Britain, they established a fort at Exeter in 55 AD. A settlement grew up around the fort, and continued to expand even after the fort was abandoned. Glimpses of the old Roman walls of the city can still be seen to this day.

After the fall of the Roman Empire, Exeter was ruled by Saxons, though it was briefly captured by Vikings in 876. Following the Norman conquest of Britain, Exeter rebelled against the new King in 1068, leading William the Conqueror to lay siege to the city.

The city continued to expand through the medieval period. By the time of the English Civil War in the 17th century, Exeter was a prosperous town with an economy based on the wool trade. With the coming of the Industrial Revolution, Exeter began to decline in importance, but this led to many of the city’s historic buildings being preserved.

Nowadays, Exeter repeatedly ranks highly on lists of the UK's most livable cities. Thanks to a warm southern climate and a robust economy, it's a city well worth exploring.

Things to do in Exeter

With a history that goes back more than 2,000 years, Exeter is rich in ancient monuments. Best of all, the relatively small size of the city means that many of the top attractions are very close to one another. This quirky town makes for a fascinating place to explore.

  • See the spiritual heart of the city at Exeter Cathedral. Built around 1400, this Norman Gothic church boasts an astronomical clock and stained-glass windows from the 14th-century that miraculously survived bomb damage during the Second World War. It's a tranquil place to ponder the complex history of this town.
  • Step back in time at Cathedral Close. Once the site of the old Roman bathhouse, Cathedral Close is a historic neighborhood in the center of Exeter next to the Cathedral. The well-preserved ancient buildings are now home to a number of pubs and tea shops, and it's an excellent place to get refreshed in scenic surroundings.
  • Admire some of Devon’s cultural heritage at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum. Established in 1868 as a memorial to Queen Victoria’s husband, the museum houses an eclectic collection of art, artifacts, and natural history specimens that explain more about Exeter and its region.
  • Get some fresh air at the Historic Quayside. One of the most popular parts of the city for both locals and visitors, this Riverside neighborhood is full of parks, antique shops, quaint pubs, and other great places to spend a pleasant afternoon. Go for a stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of the town.
  • Don't miss a unique photo opportunity at Parliament Street. Just off Exeter's High Street, this may not be the world's narrowest street as it claims. But at 25 inches wide, it's definitely one of them. It makes for a great photo opportunity as you explore the center of the city.

Transit options in Exeter

  • Exeter airport is just a few miles outside the city and can be reached by bus. The airport flies to destinations throughout the UK and a few international airports. The nearest major airport is London Heathrow, which can be reached by long-distance bus in around two and half hours.
  • Exeter train station is close to the center of the city, just a few minutes' walk from the Cathedral and many of the town's other attractions. Trains stop here from London, Cardiff, and other cities throughout the UK.
  • Bus routes 173 and 359 stop outside the train station. From here, they travel through the center of the city to the Cathedral, making it easy to get around.

Luggage storage in Exeter

Due to its comparatively small size, Exeter is a very walkable city. And often, that's the best way to explore such an ancient town. You never know what you may find when you explore on foot. But you will want to do that while carrying heavy bags. So make sure you track down a Bounce luggage storage location in Exeter. No matter how many bags you have or how big they are, you can leave them at an Exeter luggage storage knowing they will be safely looked after until you come to pick them up.
