West Hollywood became an incorporated city relatively recently – on November 29th, 1984, to be precise. Unlike East Hollywood or even the Hollywood Hills, West Hollywood is a fully-fledged city with a community and culture that’s all its own. West Hollywood is a major hub for members of the LGBTQ community, and many of the businesses and services offered in “WeHo” are owned and operated by LGBTQ individuals and families. WeHo also hosts numerous events like Outfest and the Los Angeles Gay Pride Parade to support California’s LGBTQ community.
Suffice it to say, there’s plenty to see and do in West Hollywood. WeHo is a very inclusive city that will warmly welcome anyone and everyone into its borders. West Hollywood is also home to several historic sites such as the La Fontaine Apartments and a portion of Los Angeles’ legendary Sunset Strip.
As with most Californian cities, West Hollywood offers a slew of interesting things to do. Are you looking for a fun way to work up a sweat? Sign up for one of WeHo’s Bike Tours. Are you eager to see Hollywood in all of its glory? Enroll in a VIP Tour. West Hollywood’s art scene is also one of a kind, as the city supports local artists just as much as it supports international creators. While you’re visiting West Hollywood, Bounce recommends exploring the following points of interest.
Along with New York, California is one of the populated states in America. We honestly feel that we can’t stress this point enough. We’ve lost count of how many times we’ve heard first-time visitors being overwhelmed by the sheer number of people in Cali. Even though West Hollywood might have a relatively small population of about 36,854 citizens, the city typically receives 3.6 million visitors per year. When WeHo is at peak capacity, it can be hard to keep track of yourself, let alone all of your luggage. That’s why you should use Bounce to store your luggage.
Bounce is a 24 hour, 7 days a week luggage storage service that operates in cities all around the world. We operate in major metropolitan areas like Los Angeles, as well as smaller cities like West Hollywood. You can find our luggage storage locations next to major landmarks, main streets, and hotels. For just $5.90 per day, you’ll be able to store everything from extra clothes to carrying cases with our Bounce partners. Download the app and book the location closest to you.
Luggage Storage Near the Hollywood Museum
The Golden Age of Hollywood lasted from the early 1910s all the way to the later 1960s. During this time, hundreds of films were conceived, shot, and edited in Tinseltown. These days, very few films are actually shot in Hollywood, California. That’s where places like the Hollywood Museum come in; museums that curate artifacts and heirlooms from Hollywood’s Golden Age allow visitors to effectively travel back in time.
The Hollywood Museum is located at 1660 N. Highland Ave. Whether you’re a film historian or a dyed in the wool cinephile, you should definitely check this museum out. You can purchase your tickets online as well as in person. Use Bounce to store your luggage, then visit this tribute to Hollywood’s Golden Age.
Luggage Storage Near the Pacific Design Center
The Pacific Design Center is one of West Hollywood’s newer landmarks. The late Argentine Architect Cesar Pelli drafted the schematics for the PDC back in 1975. Since then, the PDC has become famous for its awe-inspiring aesthetic, beguiling showrooms, and both of the well reviewed restaurants that are owned by Wolfgang Puck.
You can find the Pacific Design Center on 8687 Melrose Ave, near one of our luggage storage locations. One of the first things that you’ll likely notice when you visit the PDC is a massive, blue building nestled on one end of the complex. This structure is known as the “Blue Whale,” and is truly a sight that you have to see in person to appreciate.
Luggage Storage Near the Schindler House
Words and pictures alone simply don’t do the Schindler House justice. Though this modernistic house may look like it was built recently, it was actually constructed in 1922 by Austrian-American Architect Rudolph M. Schindler. Mr.Schindler originally designed the house to service two families at once, hence its “double L apartment” design.
These days, the MAK Center for Art and Architecture tends to the Schindler house. For a small entrance fee, the MAK Center will grant admission to the house. We highly recommend that you head over to 835 N. Kings Road and visit the Schindler House when you have the chance. Before you visit, be sure to store your luggage with Bounce.
