About Nairobi CBD

As the capital of Kenya, Nairobi is a popular place to live and to visit. The central business district (CBD) is at the center of the city and has a wide variety of shopping malls, restaurants, small local shops, and bars. What used to be a swampland before 1899 is now a large bustling metropolis along the Nairobi River with a population of more than four million people.

With an average temperature of 65 degrees, outdoor activities are popular in Nairobi. The warmest months from January through March typically have a high of 80 degrees while the highs from June through September are about 60 degrees. One of the most popular places in the Nairobi area is the Nairobi National Park, where you can go on safari, have breakfast with giraffes, and spend the night with wild animals at one of their three campgrounds.

Nairobi CBD has over a dozen skyscrapers with shopping centers and eateries mixed in with businesses and government offices. The largest is the Pinnacle, which is over 1,000 feet tall and is the tallest building in Africa. The cultural scene is popular as well, with art galleries, museums, and theaters.

Fun Fact: Several films have been shot in Nairobi including Eye in the Sky with Aaron Paul and Helen Mirren and a television series called Sense8.
