Queens is the largest of the five boroughs in New York City in the state of New York. With over 2.2 million residents, Queens is also the second most populated borough in the city. The borough was established in 1683 and was one of the dozen original counties of New York at the time. It was named after Queen Catherine of Braganza, who was Queen of Ireland, Scotland, and England.
Some of the most popular attractions in Queens include the Mets Citi Field Ballpark, Flushing Meadows Park, Corona Park, the Aqueduct Racetrack, and two major airports, LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy International Airport. The borough also offers two dozen museums to visit, including the New York Hall of Science, the Museum of Modern Art, and Queens Botanical Garden.
If you enjoy sculptures, head over to Socrates Sculpture Park on Vernon Boulevard, where they have hundreds of sculptures around the five-acre park. If you want to hit the beach, check out People’s Beach on Rockaway Beach Boulevard or the nearby Coney Island in Brooklyn. For some retail therapy, visit Golden Shopping Mall, or you can go see the Brooklyn Bridge, take a tour of NBC Studios, or visit the Statue of Liberty.
Fun Fact: Many famous people were born or raised in Queens, including Tony Bennett, 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj, and President Donald Trump.
There is way too much going on in Queens for you to get bored while you are in town. But if you only have one day, there are several places that you just should not miss. Here are some of our favorites.

We have partners all over the world who will keep your bags for you while you have fun. Locals can also use our service whenever you have stuff you need to stash for a while, like a work bag when headed out on the town.
Most of the attractions and parks are not places where you can bring your bags along. It would not be much fun dragging your luggage with you to the mall or park anyway. Luggage Storage Near Empire State Building
Everyone has heard of the Empire State Building. It would be a shame if you were in New York and did not visit. Located on West 34th Street about 15 minutes from Queens, you can avoid the crowds by going before 10 AM or really late, like after nine. Your tickets will get you to the most popular place to see the city on the 86th floor. But you can go even higher. The 102nd floor is 1,250 feet above the city, and you can see more than 80 miles on a clear day. You can also take selfies with the bronze sculptures of the construction workers who helped make the building on the 80th floor. But don’t forget to visit King Kong in the office where you can get an even more memorable selfie standing in the palm of the giant ape. Make sure you leave your luggage with one of our Bounce partners first because no bags are allowed inside.

Travel under and through the Pacific Ocean without even having to get wet. With 60,000 square feet, you can see some of the largest and most frightening but beautiful creatures in the ocean. Walk along the ocean floor with a humpback whale, some sea lions, and squids that are as intriguing as they are scary. Take a guided tour to learn about these and other majestic animals that live in the sea. Be sure to stop by the Exploration Hall to see all sorts of interactive displays. You can even learn about a career in marine biology, conservation, or ocean exploration. Leave your bags at any of our Bounce locations before you go because you won’t be able to bring them in with you.
Luggage Storage Near Central Park
As one of the most famous parks in the world, Central Park should definitely be on your itinerary. The park has dozens of attractions, including several museums, over a dozen gardens, and many sculptures and memorials to see. You will not want to miss visiting the hundreds of animals at the Central Park Zoo, from bears to sea lions. Another favorite is the Belvedere Castle at the top of Vista Rock, which was built in 1869. Take a ride on the carousel or rent a boat to paddle around on the lake at the Loeb Boathouse, where you can also grab some dinner. You’ll have to stop at one of our Bounce affiliates to drop off your belongings first, though, because you cannot bring them with you.
