ITB Berlin was founded in 1966 as a small event with nine exhibitors and around 250 visitors. It was initially part of a larger import trade fair in West Berlin, organized to show the growing importance of tourism as an industry.

Today, ITB Berlin attracts many presenters and attendees and remains a critical platform for networking, innovation, and global tourism. It plays a vital role in shaping trends, policies, and partnerships across the travel sector.

This event has become global, having regional editions such as ITB Asia in Singapore and ITB China, bringing its expertise to other parts of the world.

What to Expect When Attending ITB Berlin 2025

Over 10,000 exhibitors from 180+ countries will present their destinations, cultures, and tourism services.

Expect different segments, each focusing on a specific theme. Some of the sectors you'll find there are luxury travel, LGBTQ+ tourism, and business travel.

Leading speakers from business, science, and politics have examined the current and future challenges facing the tourism industry. They will offer discussions, workshops, and panels on various topics, including sustainable tourism, AI in travel, post-pandemic strategies, and traveler behavior.

You'll also learn about travel technology while exploring innovations such as AI in travel, booking software, virtual reality tours, and the metaverse.

The weather will be cool and mild. Daytime temperatures will average around 8 C (46 F), with nighttime lows dipping to about 0 C (32 F). Dress warmly for this occasion, and bring a raincoat and an umbrella; it's likely to rain!

Tickets

Early bird tickets are available until January 14. The prices are EUR 65.00 for a three-day ticket and EUR 45.00 for a single-day ticket. After January 14, the prices will increase, so purchase your ticket on time.

• Security personnel will conduct bag checks and ensure everyone's safe.
• CCTV cameras will be placed to monitor activities.

How to Get To or From the Event

Here's how to reach the Messe Berlin Exhibition grounds:

• S-Bahn (Urban Train): Use the S41/S42 (Ringbahn) to reach Messe Nord/ICC (Witzleben) station, which is close to the venue. Alternatively, you can take the S3/S9/S75 lines to Westkreuz or Messe Süd (Eichkamp) stations.
• U-Bahn (Subway): Take the U2 to Kaiserdamm station, within walking distance of Messe Berlin.
• Bus: Bus lines 104, 139, 218, and 349 stop near the exhibition grounds. Express bus X34 or X49 connects quickly from central Berlin.

ITB Berlin 2025 Bag Policy

All small bags and backpacks will be checked at the entrance. You can't enter the venue with larger bags, but you can store them at the cloakroom services for a fee of €3.00 per cloakroom item and €5.00 per piece of luggage.
