The Wisconsin Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople (WAAC) organized the first Art Fair Off the Square in 1986. Today, WAAC hosts two annual fairs: one held in summer, and one in winter, called the Winter Art Fair Off the Square.

WAAC, a non-profit organization, remains dedicated to promoting local Wisconsin artists, providing them with opportunities to promote their work and engage directly with the public.

This fair gathers local Wisconsin artists and craftspeople who want to show or sell their beautiful works - from paintings and sculpture to photography and jewelry.

Located inside the Exhibition Hall of the Monona Terrace Convention Center, the Winter Art Fair Off the Square aims to educate the public about art. It also provides opportunities for attendees to observe and purchase a wide variety of artwork in this spacious exhibition hall.

The Winter Art Fair Off the Square will take place on November 9 and 10.

What to Expect When Attending Art Fair Off the Square 2024

The Winter Art Fair Off the Square features over 135 exhibitors and attracts around 4,000 visitors yearly!

If you're attending with kids, don't miss visiting a Young Collectors' Corner, where children under 12 can buy artwork for affordable prices! There’s also a Silent Auction of artwork, where local artists and businesses donate artwork and various items for the auction. Those who want to buy the item put their name and bid amount next to the work.

You can also expect live music entertainment, including classical and bluegrass performances. This addition makes this event even more sophisticated and joyful!

The forecast predicts freezing days for this event, with average temperatures ranging from about 20°F to 30°F (-6°C to -1°C). Even though this is an indoor fair, dress warmly to stay comfortable!

General admission fee is $5. Children aged 12 and under can enter for free with adult supervision.

The opening hours are 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and 9 AM to 4 PM on Sunday.

Security personnel will monitor the crowd and check bags at the entrance.

Medical staff will be present to help with any issues.
