Step into a place of fantasy and whimsy at this year's NYBG Holiday Train Show. Watch the small installations that pay homage to New York's amazing architecture!
New York City is well-known for its impressive architectural structures. This event skillfully copies those structures in their smaller versions made from natural materials and real plant parts, like acorns, cinnamon sticks, pieces of pinecone, and twigs!
This event's inaugural year was 1992, organized by the New York Botanical Garden. Since then, it has become a beloved sensation for visitors from all over the globe! Today, the event attracts around 200,000 visitors yearly.
The NYBG Holiday Train Show is held at the Botanical Garden. You can visit an immersive outdoor train display, and when it gets chilly out, warm yourself inside of the cozy indoor display in the Haupt Conservatory, where model trains zip past iconic New York landmarks.
Take time to observe buildings and structures and view tiny details of Brooklyn Bridge, Yankee Stadium, or Coney Island's Wonder Wheel!
Mark the date: November 16 to January 20. You have plenty of time to prepare for your trip to NYC!
This holiday season will be truly spectacular!
Expect to see something extraordinary! Many G-scale model trains will make their way through the miniature city's nearly half-mile track.

Prepare for freezing temperatures! The mid-November will bring cold autumn weather, with average temperatures around 10°C (50°F) during the day and dropping to about 3°C (37°F) at night. As the month progresses, temperatures may further decrease with temperatures reaching only 6°C (43°F). Expect the coldest days to be in December and January, with temperatures ranging from -3°C (27°F) to 4°C (39°F). It's likely to snow, so dress accordingly, keep yourself warm, and enjoy!
