Fenway Park Bag Policy 2024 - Key Details

A street view of Boston, MA, with Fenway Park on one side

If you're looking for a major league baseball field that is steeped in history, look no further than Fenway Park in Boston. Home to the MBA Boston Red Sox team, the stadium was opened in 1912, making it the oldest ballpark in the country. Known for its iconic "Green Monster" it is one of the tallest outfield walls in the league. Because of the extreme outfield wall height, it makes home runs even more exciting! And with a seating capacity of almost 38,000 fans, it can get pretty wild and loud.

While the Red Sox games are always popular, it's not the only event that takes place at Fenway Park. Located at 4 Jersey St, in Boston, the stadium also hosts some of the biggest concert tours and other live events. Some of the biggest names to perform at Fenway Park include Pink, Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Aerosmith, Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, and the Zac Brown Band. Many of these top artists have performed at Fenway Park multiple times over the years.

Its convenient downtown location also makes it easy for tourists to combine sightseeing before or after the game or concert. A few popular points of interest include Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, a stroll along the Boston Common, the Museum of Science, the Boston Aquarium, and the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum.

Before heading out to Fenway Park, just be warned there is a bag policy in effect. Coming straight from the airport, train station, or car service to the ballpark expecting to walk through the gates with all your belongings will leave you frustrated and scrambling to come up with another solution, which we can help with!

So let's dive into the bag policy and everything else you need to know.

Bag Policy at Fenway Park: What You Need to Know Before You Visit

When it comes to the bags allowed in Fenway Park, they are very specific. Multi-compartment bags such as backpacks, duffel bags, backpack-style purses, and other multi-compartment bags are not allowed. Fans are only allowed one single-compartment bag per person, and it can't be larger than 12" x 12" x 6". Bags larger than the maximum allowed will be strictly prohibited from entering the grounds.

Fans entering Fenway Park are also encouraged to use clear bags. You will still be admitted if it's not a clear bag, but clear bags help to speed up the entry process as you pass through the metal detectors.

Other prohibited items in the bag policy include glass containers and hard-sided coolers. For guests with young children, there is an exception for diaper bags.

There is an option for on-site storage through a third-party locker company. You can rent a locker at the locker truck, which is found at the top of the Lansdowne Garage across from Gate E. Keep in mind this can be an expensive option, these lockers often fill up fast, and it's not necessarily convenient for you to find the locker truck depending which direction you're coming from.
