While this is an older amphitheater don't let that sway you from visiting. The Hollywood Bowl has hosted some of the most legendary musical acts and concerts out there.

Located at 2301 Highland Ave in Los Angeles, it's more than just the unique shape of this outdoor theatre that makes it memorable. The backdrop of the mountains makes it look majestic and those same mountains help to boost the acoustics, enhancing live music events.

As for what legends have performed here, it includes the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Adele, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Bob Dylan and the Band, and so many more. These aren't just any old musicians, these are icons in the industry, and some of the most powerful voices who have ever been. Bag Policy at Hollywood Bowl: What You Need to Know Before You Visit

The first thing to note is that because the Hollywood Bowl is an amphitheater, the bag policy is a bit different than typical stadiums and arenas. Guests are allowed to bring one bag each, and they don't have to be clear - which makes things easy for you. The only restriction is size, bags cannot be larger than 15" wide, 15" high, or 22" long.

The other rule is that bags, containers, baskets, and coolers measuring the correct size have to fit under your seat. If you're in a rented box, the house rules still apply which means your containers, picnic baskets, and more need to fit in your box.

Depending on the event, some will restrict glass so you'll need to use plastic items instead. Aluminum cans are never permitted.

There is bag storage available at Bag Check, but there is no guarantee there will be space left when you arrive, or that it will be able to accommodate the size of your bags and luggage.

Policies to Keep In Mind When Going to the Hollywood Bowl

The bag policy is easy enough to understand, but that's not the only rule. There are special house rules that you'll want to be aware of, so let's take a look.

You Can Bring Food, Snacks, and Beverages to the Hollywood Bowl

There's good news with this policy because you can bring your own food and drinks! Certain events may have more specific rules, so it's always smart to look at the instructions on your ticket before heading to the venue.

As stated on the venue's website, you can bring in containers, picnic baskets, and coolers that have food, snacks, and drinks in them. They cannot be bigger than 15" wide, 15" high, and 22" long. All your food and snack items need to fit under your seat so they aren't in the way of others. Loose food and drinks aren't allowed, they need to be contained in something.

As well, all LA Phil-presented events allow guests to bring outside wine and beer. If it's a Lease Event, then you can't bring outside wine and beer - or any alcohol. Remember, there are still no aluminum cans or glass allowed. This means you can't bring wine bottles, beer bottles, or wine glasses made from glass.

If you don't want to bring your own food and drinks, there are food truck vendors on-site that you can buy snacks, meals, and drinks from. All ticket-holders can also pre-order a picnic box for pickup at the Plaza Marketplace.

The Hollywood Bowl is cashless, so you will need to be prepared to pay with other payment methods.

Cameras are Always Welcomed at the Hollywood Bowl

Good news budding photographers, you can bring your cameras into the theater. Extendable lenses, selfie sticks, and monopods won't be allowed though. You can also use your smartphone to take video clips.

Final Useful Tips When Going to the Hollywood Bowl

We don't recommend driving to the venue, as LA is notorious for its incredibly busy traffic. You don't want to still be stuck in traffic when the performance starts. Park and ride is a better option and there is a Bowl Shuttle that picks up people at different Park & Ride locations.

You can also use Metrolink and get dropped off at the amphitheater. This public transit option can also bring you back to the airport when you are done with your trip, which can be convenient.
