Barclays Center Bag Policy: Know Before You Go
Barclays Center is one of those arenas that has created a name for itself not just because it's a great facility, but for the events it has hosted. It's the home stadium to the NBA's Brooklyn Nets and the WNBA's New York Liberty. The arena can also transform to host top NHL ice hockey games, professional boxing matches, and international gymnastics events.
On the music front, it was the host of the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Top that off with major martial arts events and professional wrestling, and there is no shortage of reasons for you to consider visiting this venue.
If you do plan a visit, keep in mind that its location in the heart of Brooklyn means it's easy to reach by public transportation, but there is no parking nearby. That can greatly impact how you plan to get to the venue and how much time it will take. As a tourist, Brooklyn is a borough of New York City that is full of attractions, mouth-watering cuisine, shopping, and a vibrant nightlife scene.
Here we'll take a look at the Barclays Center policy on bags, transportation options, additional policies, and how we can help you if you've got luggage, oversized bags, and backpacks in tow.
Barclays Center Bag Policy
Bags that are larger than 14'' by 14'' by 6'' will not be allowed entry. Smaller backpacks and drawstring bags are deemed to be acceptable but will be subject to X-ray inspection by security personnel. You should expect delays as the inspection process can move slowly.
Any bags that exceed 14" x 14" x 6" aren't allowed entry, and all backpacks and luggage are also prohibited items.

Additional Policies and Tips for Barclays Center
The bag policy is certainly important for tourists to know about, but there are additional tips and policies that first-timers likely won't know. Here are some of the most important ones.
Getting to Barclays Center
As already mentioned, driving to Barclays Center isn't recommended. Traffic is notoriously heavy and slow, and there is a serious lack of nearby parking. As a tourist, the last thing you want to do is try to navigate the busy streets, driving around in vain looking for a parking spot.
The better option is public transportation. Brooklyn has excellent transportation options that are reliable, fast, and affordable. Several subway lines stop near the venue, and during big events and games, the service is increased. The three stations that service Barclays Center are Atlantic Terminal-Barclays Center Station, Lafayette Avenue Station, and Fulton Street Station.
The Long Island Rail Road can also act as an option if you're coming in that direction.
It's best to visit the MTA website to get information on routes and schedules.
Barclays Center Food and Beverages Policy
For those who want to bring outside food and beverages into the venue, be advised that this is prohibited. The only exceptions are for those with special medical and dietary needs. Glass bottles or metal canisters are also prohibited.
The answer is simple, plan to purchase food and drinks inside the venue at one of the many concession stands and vendors. There are even high-end dining options, which beats bringing snacks in with you in terms of flavor and taste.
Barclays Center Camera Policy
Cameras are allowed in the Barclays Center but they cannot have telephoto or detachable/interchangeable lenses on them. External flash is also prohibited. Video cameras won't be allowed in, the same goes for tripods, monopods, bipods, and selfie sticks.
