If you do have tickets to a game or show at MetLife Stadium you'll want to read because we've got all the details on the bag policy for guests.
MetLife Stadium Bag Policy Details
MetLife Stadium uses the clear bag policy. This means you can bring one bag in per person, but it needs to be clear. It also cannot exceed 12" x 6" x 12". You can use a one-gallon clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag, such as a freezer bag. The stadium does make exceptions for medical bags and medically necessary items.
Also approved is a small clutch with or without a handle or strap. These can't exceed 4.5" x 6.5". These items don't have to be clear plastic. If you plan on bringing a bag into the MetLife Sports Complex, be prepared for an inspection prior to entry.
According to the bag policy, the following items aren't allowed at an NFL game or other events. These include tote bags, backpacks, fanny packs, small purses, binocular cases, diaper bags, seat cushions, computer bags, or camera bags. Fans are also encouraged to look at their ticket to see if there are any other rules regarding the clear plastic bag policy.
MetLife Stadium does offer bag check lockers outside the gates, but they may not be big enough for all your belongings and there is no guarantee there will be an empty locker when you arrive.

Additional Rules and Tips to Be Aware Of
The following policies are also in place in the stadium. We've also put together some tips that will ensure that the event you attend is fabulous.
How to get to MetLife Stadium
- MetLife Stadium is served by Meadowlands Sports Complex Station. Rail service to the station is provided for events with an expected attendance of over 50,000. Trains leave from Hoboken terminal.
- Bus 351 connects the Port Authority to MetLife Stadium on game days.
- There are parking lots available for those who want to drive, with accessible parking and drop-off available in 3 of the lots.
Outside Food and Beverage Policy
The food and beverage policy is another important one at this multi-purpose stadium. Guests can bring in a factory-sealed plastic bottle of water, or soft drinks. It can't be larger than 20 oz. Reusable water bottles aren't allowed.
Outside food is permitted inside MetLife Stadium. It must be contained in clear bags so that security can easily see it like a freezer bag. It will still go through a proper inspection too.
There is also a stadium alcohol policy in effect for all events. Guests are limited to two alcoholic beverages at a time, and any guest under the age of 40 will be asked to show valid identification. There are also alcohol cut-off times. Sales will stop at the beginning of the third quarter.
A better plan than bringing food in clear bags and water bottles is to buy snacks and drinks at the concession stands. Be warned that this is a cashless stadium. If you want to purchase items at the store or concession stands, you won't be able to use cash.
Camera Policy
Still photography cameras are allowed at Giants Stadium, which means you can take all the pictures you want of the New York Giants or any other event. The main rule is that your camera equipment doesn't interfere with creating an enjoyable and safe environment for all. That means no lens longer than 6". A long lens can get in the way of fellow patrons and block their view.
MetLife Stadium Is a Family Friendly Environment
The stadium features amenities and services such as family restrooms, baby changing stations, a children's ticketing policy (kids up to 34" in height can get in for free for NFL events if they sit on the lap of an adult with a ticketed seat), lost children/parents help, and nursing stations. One thing to note, you won't be able to carry in a stroller, you will need to check it at the gate designated for strollers, and there is a fee.
Prohibited Items
Here's a handy list of items that aren't allowed in the stadium. And remember, everything is inspected prior to entry by security so you want to be sure you don't have any of these items.
- Outside alcoholic beverages
- Plastic bottles that aren't factory-sealed
- Glass bottles or cans
- Ice chests, both soft and hard-sided
- Banners and flags
- Pets or animals of any kind, unless it is a service animal
- Laser pointers
- Lens longer than 6"
- Hand-held selfie sticks, tripods, and monopods
