Amalie Arena Bag Policy: Key Information
The city of Tampa is known for its incredible year-round temperatures, vibrant city life, and a bevy of attractions and sights. One of the premier attractions in the city, however, is the Amalie Arena. The arena is home to the NHL's Tampa Bay Lighting, who are three-time Stanley Cup winners.
This is the place to go if you want to watch professional sports, concerts, monster truck rallies, comedy shows, professional wrestling, and other live performances. The arena is conveniently located in downtown Tampa, which makes it highly accessible. With a seating capacity of just over 20,000 guests, you can bet that there is plenty of excitement during games and shows.
Thanks to its location, you'll also be able to do some sightseeing before or after the event as you could easily spend a full day in downtown Tampa. Some of the attractions include the Florida Aquarium, Tampa Riverwalk, Sparkman Wharf, Tampa Bay History Center, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, and the Tampa Museum of Art.
One thing you’ll want to familiarize yourself with is the arena’s bag policy. If you’re stuck with your luggage, you’ll want to look into our luggage storage options. Bag Policy Details
The Amalie Arena bag policy prohibits any bags that exceed 12” x 12” x 12”. Items such as backpacks, briefcases, and luggage are prohibited. At hockey games, any bags larger than 4" x 6" x 1.5" will go through an X-ray scanner, which is located at all entry points.
Medical and parenting bags are allowed as long as they adhere to the size restrictions. Parenting bags will still need an X-ray scanner prior-to entry. Medical bags require exemption and will be hand-searched.

Getting to the Arena
You've got a few different ways to get to the arena thanks to its central location. Driving is ideal if you're coming from the surrounding suburbs, and there are parking lots near the venue. These do fill up fast, so you'll need to arrive early to get a spot. Traffic can also be very heavy, which will slow you down.
Public transit is also available. The TECO Line Streetcar System and the buses are both great options. They each have a stop near the venue.
Rideshares and taxis mean you don't have to worry about directions and you can get dropped off right outside the arena. Taxis can be harder to come by, but there is a designated pick-up stand for them that you can use after the event ends.
Depending on where you're coming from, walking may also be possible. There are several hotels near the arena, as well as restaurants and shops.
Outside Food and Drink Policy
The food and drink policy at the arena doesn't allow any outside items to be brought in. All food and drink needs to be disposed of before going through the gates. Medical and family exceptions can be sorted out with guest services.

Camera Policy
Guests are welcome to bring small cameras into the arena, but no professional equipment is allowed. This includes selfie sticks, tripods, and monopods. If you're going to an NHL game, your camera can't have a lens that exceeds 6".
Video and audio recording devices are not allowed.
Prohibited items
Additional items that are prohibited include laser pointers, fireworks, folding chairs, noisemakers, and large banners and signs.
