New Quay Melbourne
About New Quay
New Quay is a residential community in Melbourne, Australia. It was one of the first developments in the Docklands, opening in 2002 with six residential towers and a podium along the Victoria Harbour of the Yarra River. The waterfront is lined with shops, cafés, bars, and restaurants, as well as a public marina and hotels, so it is a popular tourist attraction.
Within the towers are over one thousand apartments and townhomes, making New Quay a city within a city. Each building has its perks, such as a club with three pools, barbeque areas, a gym, and dining at the Banksia building and a cinema, lounge, and library at the Marina Center. You can also enjoy some sports in New Quay such as golfing, fishing, boating, mini-golf, and even ice skating.
For nature lovers, there are several parks in New Quay, including a sculpture park, Monument Park, New Quay West Linear Park, and New Quay Central Park. And for those who need some retail therapy, you can find plenty of options. The Factory Outlet has a variety of retail shops, and if you want to shop the open-air markets, check out Harbour Town and the Sunday Market.
Fun Fact: Every January, which is the beginning of summer in Australia, the community opens a giant public waterslide. It is over 82 feet long and boasts games with a mist zone for the kids.
